Councilor for Marabella East Arnold Soogrim has said that systems put in place by Petrotrin to deal with residents are not running smoothly.
He said since the oil spill last Tuesday the company has been trying to relocate persons however, this seemed to cause much discomfort to the affected residents.
Mr. Soogrim said he is disappointed by Petrotrin’s response to the situation.
He said there was an agreement with Petrotrin for an Ambulance to be on site, but residents have been visiting his house for assistance to and from the Hospital.
He added that some residents have visited the Hospital several times with a variety of illnesses.
Mr. Soogrim claimed that residents are very concerned with the long term effects of the oil spill and questions whether assistance will be offered by Petrotrin in the future.
