The Child Protection Task Force (CPTF) has delivered its second report to Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, with one recommendation calling for the establishment of special unit to deal with minors.
The CPTF was established by a Prime-Ministerial mandate, on the heels of an increase in incidents of violence against children.
Chairman of the CPTF, Dianna Mahabir-Wyatt, says this unit has the support of the Minister of National security.
Mrs. Mahabir-Wyatt says this report illustrates how the child protection apparatus of the country has moved forward.
One achievements of the task force is the hiring of staff members for the Children Authority.
