There has been acknowledgement that the crime situation in Trinidad and Tobago will present some challenges in 2016.

This comes from the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force which revealed that it would be difficult to bring crime under control this year.

However it has assured that it will commit to working with all arms within the Ministry of National Security to make the country safe.

Chief of Defence Staff Brigadier General Rodney Smart gave the assurance at the Holy Trinity Cathedral on Sunday morning.

He also stated that while there were those who were lost to criminal activity last year, it paled in comparison to other countries and praised the efforts of religious leaders.

Crime is a shame for any civilized nation.Somebody with a posh uniform can talk about it without knowing a solution. All these people with the posh uniform should work on the road to prevent crime. What T&T need most is a lot of skilled detectives in plain clothes. Also a national secret service like the FBI is needed to tackle criminals. With a good information service controlling the work of the police a lot of crime should be solved too. This means also corrupt police officers have to be dismissed instantly. After that the Brigadier General with his posh uniform can pray and thank the almighty god for his mercy that he was promoted to his rank.
