A man is warded at hospital after allegedly chopping himself by accident during a fight. According to police reports, the 22 year-old man was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital after sustaining a chop wound to the head, following a confrontation with a man known to him.

Besson Street police were told that at around 8.00 pm on Sunday, the 22-year-old was at his home along Mango Alley, Laventille, when he got into a confrontation with an 18-year-old man known to him. The argument had been over money owed.

The confrontation, police were told, became physical, during which time, the older man got a cutlass and swung it at the 18-
year-old. The teenager however managed to get out of the way and the attacker himself was however chopped when the cutlass unexpectedly swung all the way around. The injured man was rushed to hospital where he remains warded in serious condition.
