The death of two of the region’s most prolific artists last month has been followed by yet another. Dead is De Original De Fosto as November begins. Winston Scarborough, 62, passed away at his home this morning. He had been ailing with Kidney and Blood Pressure issues for some time.

Scarborough’s passing comes on the heels of the burial of Winston Bailey- The Mighty Sparrow, and prior to that, the accidental death of ace Pannist, Ken ‘ Professor’ Philmore. On Tuesday, De Fosto performed at Shadow’s non-religious funeral, which was held at the Queen’s park Savannah in Port-of-Spain.

De Fosto was considered one of the calypso arena’s most prolific song writers and performers. His childhood as an orphan would see him grow up to enter the music arena, debuting in 1976 with a song called, “Chicks Come Out to Play.” He is credited with a number of compositions written for easy adaptation by steelbands.

The Power 102FM family extends condolences to the family, close friends and fans of Winston Scarborough, the entertainer best known as De Fosto.
