More than a year after the day of total policing the matter is still being probed.
On March 23rd 2015 between the hours of 4 am and 10 am some police officers carried out a nationwide roadblock.
The move caused a massive traffic pile up along the nation’s roads.
Business activities were also affected.
The report into the incident compiled by an Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police was tabled in Parliament by former National Security Minister, Brigadier Carl Alfonso.
It indicated three causes of the massive traffic pile-up on the day as “malicious obedience”, a breakdown of systems within the Police Service and a breach of regulations mandating officers in charge to have command of their posts.
Acting Police Commissioner, Steven Williams, responded to questions on the issue during a sitting of the Joint Select Committee of Parliament this week.
