Digicel is welcoming the government’s decision to invite proposals for a third mobile operator in the country.

Earlier this week Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, made the announcement during the feature address at the opening ceremony, of the 3rd China/Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

The Prime Minister noted that competition was good.

When questioned on the matter in a News Power Authority interview, Digicel Communications Manager, Penny Gomez, said the company has no problem with another competitor coming into the telecom market.
