A physically disabled Claxton Bay vendor lost his life in a fire at his home yesterday.
39 year-old vendor Glen Ramkissoon was a DVD vendor of Mansingh Trace, Claxton Bay.
According to his sister, Ana Ramkissoon, he would usually secure his home because of thieves in the area.
She said Ramkissoon was injured in a vehicular accident 15 years ago, which damaged his foot and affected his memory.
His sister revealed that his skeleton was found close to the door, which suggests that he may have been trying to get out of the home to escape the fire.
She claimed he would lock the house because it was not safe in this area.
Fire officers were yet to determine the cause of the fire. An autopsy on Ramkissoon is carded for tomorrow at the Forensic Science Centre.
