One business association is expressing concern about the country’s climbing fiscal expenditure.

Down Town Owners and Merchants Association says the situation cannot be treated lightly especially in light of recent decline in price of oil globally.

On Thursday at the weekly post cabinet news briefing, Finance Minister, Larry Howai, said the drop in global oil prices is being closely monitored by the government.

Minister Howai explained that the necessary adjustments will be made to the national budget if there is need to do so should the situation persist.
