The Down Town Owners and Merchants Association is cautiously optimistic that better days may follow from the current state of emergency.

In it’s Independence Day message today the business group admitted for this to be achieved there must be a concerted effort from all citizens especially elite members of the society whose skills, educational backgrounds and success must be put to use in nation building.

DOMA also expressed its appreciation to members of the association involved in night-time trades who have been patiently waiting for a revision of the curfew hours in areas identified as crime hot spots.

The group said while a state of emergency is not a situation to be proud of citizens must stand together and plot a course of action that will solidify any gains which have been achieved to make the nation safer.
