One business group is expressing concern about the economic and international impact recent incidents involving the national security could have on the country.
Fresh in mind, last week Friday three prisoners at the Royal Jail in Port of Spain executed a violent escape.
One escapee was shot and killed by the police; another was found dead the following Sunday in Laventille with multiple bullet wounds; the third had a change of heart and rather than continue in stormy weather, he put in at the Barataria police station.
A 27 year old police officer who was killed during the incident was buried on Thursday.
Down Town Owners and Merchants Association President, Gregory Aboud, in a News Power Now this afternoon tete-a-tete said all must done to restore calm and order in the capital city and the rest of the country.
Mr Aboud explained that the implications of the situations could be far reaching as the country’s image can be tarnished.
