The Education Minister responds to concerns raised by the teachers union about plans to reduce the compliment of security officers at the nation’s schools.
Dr. Tim Gopeesingh maintains there is need to review the present security arrangements at schools.
His comments came after Independent Liberal Party Political Leader, Jack Warner, highlighted the issue in the parliament.

Minister Gopeesingh speaking in the House of Representatives insisted this is needed to ensure the country gets value for money and the quality of service provided by the security firms are of a high standard.
Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association President, Davanad Sinanan, said the union has not been consulted on the proposal.
