A drive-by shooting near a bar in St James has left at least one person nursing gunshot wounds.

The incident occurred near Universal Bar at the corner of Panka Street and Vidale Street in St James shortly after 10 pm.

Police responded and cordoned off the scene.

No motive was given for the shooting.
