Education Minister addresses concerns arising from SEA results

Education Minister, Anthony Garcia

The Minister of Education has clarified issues around zoning of students and grade rankings in the aftermath of the Secondary Entrance Assessment results.

Speaking with members of the media, Education Minister Anthony Garcia said traditionally parents are inclined to choose top schools without adhering to the advice from teachers.

Minister Garcia addressed this matter as it was bought to his attention that parents were upset about their child’s placing without acknowledging that the student did not make the mark for the schools previously listed.

Minster Garcia went on to say that all parents under the constitution has the right to select a school of his or her choice but the end result lies in the child’s ability to make the mark.
