Minister of Education, Anthony Garcia says the Government is doing all it can to ensure that schools undergoing repairs, renovations or that were halted mid construction are opened ASAP.
Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102.1 FM, Minister Garcia explained that upon taking office, he discovered that several schools were incomplete due to non-payment of contractors.
He said this issue is being addressed.
He added that the age of the buildings in which many schools are housed also poses a problem.
Minister Garcia explained that this issue was exacerbated by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake in August but assured the public that the repairs are being addressed as fast as financially possible.
