EDUCATION MINISTRY ASSURES TTUTA THAT SECURITY OFFICERS JOBS AT NATIONS SCHOOLS ARE SAFE

TTUTA  logo (1)The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association has been assured by the Education Ministry that the jobs of security officers employed at the nation’s schools are not under threat.

However, T.T.U.T.A President, Devanand Sinanan, in a News Power Now interview said the Ministry maintains there is need for an evaluation of the present security systems and arrangements must be made to ensure the country gets value for money.

T.T.U.T.A. has expressed concern about a proposal by the Ministry to reduce the compliment of security officers at schools.

Mr .Sinanan said recently consultation took place between officials of the Education Ministry, T.T.U.T.A. , the Maintenance Training and Security Company, the Transport and Industrial Workers Union on the matter and discussions are scheduled to continue.
