The Minister of National Security has expressed sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the teenage boy killed in Morvant, and the taxi driver who is believed to have been the target of the attack.
A release from the Ministry of National security said Government strongly condemns what it termed a ‘heinous act against innocent citizens’.
It added that Minister Dillon convened an emergency security meeting together with the Attorney General, the Ag. Commissioner of Police, senior officials of the TTPS and other law enforcement agencies.
It noted that all law enforcement agencies are in direct and active engagement and together send a stern warning to the perpetrators that they will be found and made to feel the brunt of the law.
It said a no holds barred approach will be taken by law enforcement to protect our law abiding people from the criminal elements and gang activity.
