The National Library in Port-of-Spain was abruptly closed yesterday , this after a man walked into the building and proceeded to accost a female on the job training employee who had been assigned to the Adult Library on the 1st floor of the building.
According to reports, the woman raised an alarm and the man was restrained by a male staff member. The suspect was subsequently taken to the police station by the library’s security officers. The OJT employee was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital to be checked out. She is said to be in good health and spirits following the incident.
The library was closed to the public thereafter and professionals from Elders and Associates were called in to provide intervention and support to all members of staff who serve in the public areas at the POS facility.
