Employers Consultative Association suggests restart in social dialogue with optimism

The Employers Consultative Association is suggesting that the social dialogue process be restarted with renewed vigor, optimism and focus.

This as Labour representation on the National Tripartite Advisory Council is no more following the decision by trade unions to pull out of the arrangement.

Recently the Prime Minister urged the Labour movement to return to NTAC which also has input from employers, the business community and government.

Following their mass march and rally in Port of Spain on Friday trade unions leaders requested a meeting with the Prime Minister in the next two weeks.

However, Keston Nanco ECA Chairman believes that going forward there should be a greater push to get social dialogue up and running.

Mr Nanco said amid the many challenges facing the nation now is not the time for any development that will hurt nation building.
