Energy Minister says BPTT gas finds should not be used to score political points

Energy Minister Franklin Khan is warning against using the recent gas finds of BPTT to score political mileage.

BPTT revealed on Thursday it discovered two major gas finds.

This was announced by Norman Christie, Regional President for BPTT at a media briefing.

Earlier this week Opposition Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar said during the tenure of the coalition administration took several measures to help improve the exploration activity in the energy sector locally.

However, Minister Khan speaking at a media briefing told reporters the significant gas discoveries is a beneficial one for the country and seeking to score mileage from it is not the way to go.
