The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited is currently undertaking a detail evaluation to determine the remaining work that is to be done for the completion of the Point Fortin Highway.
Works and Transportation Minister, Fitzgerald Hinds, explains that the outstanding work will then be divided into a number of smaller projects.
He adds that these will be made available by a competitive open tender process for qualified local contractors.
Minister Hinds gave the update in response to a question from the Opposition this afternoon. The Opposition wished to be informed on what steps would be taken to complete the mega project in light of reports that state-owned NIDCO has fired OAS Construtora.
