Former 1990 attempted coup hostage, Wendell Eversley, is not giving up in his bid for July 27th to be declared by the government a national day of prayer and thanksgiving.

Mr. Eversely who was in the parliament when it was stormed by members of the Jamaat Al Muslimeen praised the government for setting up a Commission of Inquiry into the insurrection.

However, in a News Power Authority interview this afternoon, Mr Eversley commented on what he described as the luke-warm response shown by politicians to the annual wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the attempted coup.

He confirmed the Prime Minister responded via a letter to the correspondent sent to her for July 27th to be given greater national recognition indicated the matter will be considered.

Mr Eversley also plans to write to the Chairman of Commission of Inquiry into insurrection on the matter.
