Executive of the Media Association of Trinidad and Tobago

Less than a year and half after being elected the Executive of the Media Association of Trinidad and Tobago has resigned.

The board members elected were Curtis Williams as President Khamal Georges as Vice President, Akash Samaroo as Secretary, Omatie Lyder as assistant Secretary, Carla Bridglal as Treasurer, Jabari Fraser and Richard Charan as floor members

The MATT board elected on August 24, 2013 was viewed as some of the biggest heavy weights in the media fraternity in this era.

Last year, Carla Bridglal resigned as MATT treasurer to pursue her education abroad.

On Wednesday, Samaroo’s resignation triggered a domino effect which led to two other resignations later that day, which were tendered by Lyder and Charan.

In Omatie Lyder’s resignation letter, dated February 11, she listed Williams’s leadership as one of the reasons for her decision to step down from the association.

This is quite a curious development in MATT. Someone from the “media” should investigate this???
