Another woman has died after being discharged from hospital, having delivered her baby by C section three weeks prior.

Thirty Five year old Charlene Kowlessar, a resident of Mc Bean, Couva, passed away at her home on the weekend.

News Power Now understands that the woman had returned to the San Fernando General Hospital, where her baby had been delivered, on two occasions, allegedly for an infection she suffered where she had been surgically cut.

According to reports, she had surgery at the hospital to deliver Isaac on March 31, after a spike in her blood sugar prompted doctors to call her in earlier than the date she was due to give birth.

Her family revealed that she was recuperating well until the stiches were removed.

The area where she received the incision reportedly started bleeding.

The family sought medical help from paramedics and the San Fernando General Hospital which according to them was long in coming.
They claim that this happened on two separate occasions.
The family is no calling for a thorough investigation to be done.

A post mortem was conducted yesterday to determine the cause of death.

Ms. Kowlessar’s death comes on the heels of the death of 24 year old Keisha Ayers who passed away after undergoing a C Section at the Mt. Hope Maternity Hospital on April 9th.
