Eight years after taxi driver Adika Nicholas was hijacked and stabbed 54 times, two men were yesterday found guilty of murdering him, finally bringing closure to (Nicholas) his family.

Avinash Pooran, who was 17 at the time of his arrest, and Winston Alleyne, 38, of Duncan Village, La Romaine were found guilty of felony murder after a jury deliberated for two and half hours in the San Fernando First Criminal, Court.

Pooran and Alleyne went on trial last September charged with the Nicholas’ murder.

Nicholas’ body was discovered in a drain at Grants Trace, Rousillac by a passerby on December 10, 2006.

The State’s case was that the two accused hijacked, stabbed and stole Nicholas’ car, which they scrapped and abandoned.

The car was found abandoned along Taska Road, Borde Narve, scrapped of parts.
