Local farmers were this morning assembled at Woodford Square in Port of Spain, before heading over to HDC’s South Quay office.

They are still angered by the recent bulldozing of lands in East and Central Trinidad, by the HDC, as it moved ahead with plans to make way for new homes

The farmers protested yesterday in front of the HDC’s South Quay office, and also met with the Food Production Minister Vasant Bharath who offered support and promised to look into the matter

Today the group maintains they are going all the way with the issue, and continue to call for the removal of the HDC head Jearleen John, adequate compensation for crops lost and a public apology.
