FIFA President Sepp Blatter revealed that he would not quit his position. This comes after an emergency meeting this morning with football’s governing body amid growing political pressure over a corruption scandal. Blatter said he knows a lot of people hold him responsible for corruption at FIFA after 14 officials were indicted by U.S prosecutors.
Blatter disclosed that it was out of his control if anyone wanted to do wrong behind his back. He claimed that he would not allow the actions of others to destroy the hard work that FIFA has done.
Blatter further revealed that he would ensure that people regained trust and respect for FIFA, although he knew it would take a number of years.
He stated that the vote for President would still go on as planned.
