Finance Minister defends his position on Property Tax forms

The Finance Ministry is defending its statements and position on matters relating to the Property Tax.

Recently the United National Congress described as reckless and scandalous attempts by the Finance Ministry to subvert and undermine the judicial process by inviting property owners to continue to submit their valuation forms.

The UNC claimed citizens who submit these forms would be putting themselves at risk, as the information could give the government an unfair advantage over them when the Court is yet to rule on the legality and validity of the process being utilized.

However, speaking at the weekly post cabinet media briefing this afternoon, Colm Imbert Finance Minister said the Ministry is not acting in a haphazard way on the issue.

Minister Imbert told reporters that media releases from the Ministry on the topic have been sent out following advice from its experienced legal team.
