Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert has announced that there is no shortage of foreign exchange in the country, but rather Trinidad and Tobago has seen the highest amount of foreign exchange to date.
Speaking at a media conference at the Trinidad Hilton yesterday, Minister Imbert said the main reason for the shortage is the speculation from the public that there is a smaller supply than demand.
Minister Imbert noted that when the Mid-Year Budget Review is presented on Friday, Government will begin to remove this uncertainty.
To ease the burden on manufacturers in getting foreign exchange, Minister Imbert suggested creating a foreign exchange window.
