This country’s Foreign Affairs Ministry is closely monitoring the tense situation in London, after violence broke out over the weekend, following the police shooting of a man in Tottenham.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Suruj Rambachan, yesterday noted the developments in London and disclosed the welfare of nationals are being followed locally and abroad.

Some 16,000 police officers are being deployed on London’s streets in a bid to prevent a fourth night of rioting, with support drafted from 30 forces.

So far 563 people have been arrested and 105 charged in connection with violence in the capital.
