Form One students begin to receive Government laptops

school laptopsStudents of the East Mucurapo School had the opportunity to be the first to receive the 2014/2015 laptops from the Ministry of Education.

Education Minister Dr. Tim Goopeesingh revealed that this distribution would mean that all Secondary School students from forms 1 to 5 would now have laptops.

In his budget presentation, Finance Minister Larry Howai stated that $10.1 billion would go to the Education sector.

At a cost of $44.9 million the Education Ministry launched its fifth batch of laptop distribution on Thursday to form one students of the East Mucurapo Secondary School for the academic year 2014/2015.

The laptops through the Government’s E- Connect and Learn Programme, has remained a part of Government’s promise since 2010.

At the launch of the distribution the Minister of Education Dr. Time Goopiesingh urged the students to use the laptops wisely.
