Former Attorney General Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj

Former Attorney General, Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj is today calling on the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service to launch a probe in the national interest into whether the Prime Minister, Kamla Persad Bissessar (in concert with others) has interfered into an ongoing investigation by the Integrity Commission.

Additionally, Mr. Maharaj is calling on the police to investigate whether Mrs. Persad Bissessar has interfered with an ongoing police investigation into the EMAILGATE matter. He says these matters amount, if proven to the criminal offences of conspiring to pervert the course of public justice and or/ attempting to pervert the course of public justice.

Mr. Maharaj is also calling for President Anthony Carmona to immediately dismiss the Integrity Commission which he says has been placed under a dark cloud of suspicion.

Further, the former AG is calling on Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar to tender her resignation as Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago.
