FORMER CARONI SUGAR WORKERS ‘SOUR’ OVER UNFULFILLED PROMISES

SUGARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRFormer Caroni sugar workers are calling for promises made to them by the authorities to materialize.

The disgruntled ex-workers marched from Brechin Castle to Rienzi Complex, Couva on Saturday.

They claim they have been waiting for more than ten years for legal entitlement of land due to their Voluntary Employment Separation package.

All Trinidad General Workers Trade Union President General, Nirvan Maharaj, in an interview with the media urged the state to ensure that the former sugar employees are allocated what is due to them as indicated by the Deyalsingh Judgement of 2008.
