Former Central Bank Governor, Jewala Rambaran has criticized the Government’s handling of the economy since it took over office.
His remarks came after he was invited by the Society of Surgeons to deliver a feature address on the
state of the economy in T&T some two weeks ago.
He revealed that anything that was said was not done in light of the fact that he was fired from his
position as Central Bank Governor.
He said that any comments that were made were done based on his 25 year experience in Economics.
In an interview this morning, Rambaran who has a legal matter in relation to his removal as Central Bank
Governor, sought to explain the ills that affected the economy of T&T.
He disclosed that one of the three wounds affecting the economy was the shortage of oil and gas.
