Former minister in the Ministry of National Security Mariano Browne, has weighed in on the recent mid-term review delivered by Minister of Finance Colm Imbert.
Browne, speaking with the media this morning, first called on Finance Minister Colm Imbert to heed the IMF report and allow the foreign exchange rate to be more flexible, in order to balance out supply and demand.
He then raised issue with Imbert’s approach to dealing with the tough economic realities, saying that instead of making drastic, one-time adjustments, Imbert was dragging the country through death by 1000 cuts.
Browne went on to question the administration’s political will to do what needs to be done, stating that no external body can force us to do what only we must do.
