Former Minister of National security Gary Griffith describes the day of total policing as a day of total stupidity.
Mr. Griffith maintains that what transpired on March 23rd was completely unacceptable.
He says the road block was unnecessary and something like that should have never transpired.
Speaking on the power breakfast morning show on power 102.1FM this morning, the former national security minister said he
believes the day of total policing was influenced by salary negotiations despite the police service executive denying this.
Mr. Griffith said the recommendations coming out of the day of total policing which were laid in the House of Representative by the
Minister of National Security Brigadier Carl Alphonso make absolutely no sense.
He said a commission of inquiry will not solve the issues plaguing police officers.
Mr. Griffith says commanding officers who did not participate in the day of total policing would be sending the wrong message.
