Economist and Former PNM Senator Mariano Browne has questioned the financial future of the country after Government’s expenditure, given the drop in oil prices.
Browne disclosed that Trinidad and Tobago’s non-energy growth was strong and was able to add balance to the energy sector.
However he divulged that he was more concerned with whether or not the country would be able to continue without Government expenditure.
Browne went on to add that banking was not an independent variable and thus it was a reflection of the economy.
He said once there was no growth in the country, there would be a need to rely on other resources besides gas and oil.
