So says the Party’s founder Basdeo Panday.
UNC member and Oropouche East MP Roodal Moonilal announced to media that the party would not be holding internal elections until next year.
However, Panday has stated that his comments are based on the party’s constitution.
In an interview with News Power Now this morning the founder of the UNC revealed that the executive of the party are only pretending to be in office.
Panday disclosed that internal elections were not conducted because the present executive was intent on holding on to office.
With reference to the Party’s filing of an election petition Mr. Panday stated that the UNC officials could only legally do so as members of the party.
