Fuad Abu Bakr has made it abundantly clear that he does in fact hope to represent the people of Port-of-Spain South on a PNM ticket, heading into General Elections 2020. Abu Bakr spoke with the media this afternoon.

A party leader himself, Abu Bakr said he submitted himself to the PNM screening committee this afternoon in a bid to provide proper representation to the disenfranchised people of that constituency, which is held by controversial PNM stalwart, Marlene McDonald.

He likened himself to newly appointed government senator, Jason Williams, saying he would essentially help the PNM in getting through to the people on the ground.
