A meeting was held yesterday to address the current Ebola crisis.
In attendance were the Commander of the National Operations Center Garvin Heera and two other Senior Government Ministers as well as technocrats from the Ministry of National Security.
Representatives from the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management were also in attendance.
It was chaired by the Health Minister Dr. Fuad Khan.
NOC Commander Garvin Heerah stated that contingency planning and strategies were two of the main issues that were discussed at the meeting.
Another meeting has been scheduled for today at the National Operations Center’s Headquarters.
Following the meeting yesterday, Minister of Health Dr. Fuad Khan revealed that the country has a unified plan should an Ebola case present itself in the country.
He revealed that various state agencies were resent at the meeting and this allowed for fruitful discussions on the Ebola issue.

The Health Minister shared that he is optimistic that today’s meeting would yield positive results on a way forward in readying the country for any Ebola outbreak.
