The Tobago Officer for the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association is disputing claims that a teacher at the Scarborough Secondary School physically assaulted a student.
A recent newspaper article highlighted an attack on a teacher by a form 2 student.
However, there have been several claims by students that the teacher hit the student and triggered the altercation.
TTUTA’s Orlando Kerr is denying those claims.
He added that violence is slowly becoming a normal part of the everyday activity in schools and called on the Tobago House of Assembly and Government Agencies to step in.
