Government given one month to address safety and security matters affecting officers.

NEWS GRAPHIC 15One month is the time line being given by the Prison Officers Association to the state to address several issues affecting them and the nation’s correctional institutions.

On Monday, 50 year old Senior Superintendent of prisons, David Millette, was killed at his Cipriani Avenue, Second Caledonia home in Morvant.

POA President, Ceron Richards, speaking with members of the media this afternoon said the time for talk is over and the association wants meaningful action as its relates to the protection and security of prisons officers.

Mr Richards said going forward the association will continue to be persist in ensuring their demands are met.
