Trinidad and Tobago is not stepping into a State of Emergency at this time, however Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has made it clear that all non essential activity across the country, will be prohibited, from Sunday.

Speaking during a media conference a short while ago, Dr. Rowley explained that from midnight on Sunday, persons are urged to remain at home if there is no need to be outside. The Prime Minister said all utilities and its workers are needed now, more than ever. It was further stated that all ports, customs and immigration staff are considered essential staff.

Dr. Rowley went on two say that social workers are needed at this time , highlighting that the country needs them to remain functioning. Persons in the healthcare system are also considered ‘essential’ service providers.
