In her Labour Day message to Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Kamla Persad – Bissessar has stated that the People’s Partnership Government boasted the settlement of at least 75 collective labour agreements during their tenure.
She also claimed that the government increased economic diversification in non-energy sectors and achieved growth through aggressive fiscal stimulus programmes.
The Prime Minister also disclosed that the country has reason to be satisfied that, as a people, we have arrived at that position in our unfolding history.
She also called on citizens to be grateful that our economy is growing in sustainability with foreign investment at its highest level in years.
The Prime Minister also reaffirmed her commitment to protecting the rights of all workers.
She added that her Government would continue to govern fairly and manage the resources of the country responsibly and equitably in the interests of the entire population.
