Communications Minister, Stuart Young, says the government has been able, through the cabinet appointed negotiation team, to reach an agreement with energy companies BP and Shell over terms and conditions of contracts going into the future.

He explains that the deal was achieved this week after months of what was described as intense but progressive discussions.

Speaking at the weekly post cabinet media briefing at the Diplomatic Center, St Ann’s this afternoon, Minister Young said one of the main items is the existence of Atlantic LNG Train One going beyond 2019.

Minister Young said the development is expected to bring several benefits including a level of job security in the industry.
