The Government is today being told to stop discriminating against people over 50 with changes being made to the GATE programme.
In his budget debate contribution today, former Tertiary Education Minister Fazal Karim took issue with the announcement that people over 50 will no longer receive gate funding.
He said thousand would be affected.
He also claimed that the decision was made without consultation.
The Chaguanas East MP also appealed to finance minister to reconsider cuts to programmes such as, YTEPP, Servol and NESC.
He said because of the proposed cuts many could be placed on the breadline.
