Gov’t advises persons to make use of assistance programmes following job losses

Persons who have lost their jobs are being urged by the Planning and Development Minister to make use of assistance programmes provided by the state.

Leader of Government Business in the parliament Camille Robinson Regis said a review done into the On The Job Training Programme found that the initiative contained persons who were no longer needed.

Mrs Robinson Regis added that a review was also carried out into the operations of Government Information Services Limited.

It was revealed that GISL will be shut down on September 30th this year.

Mrs Robinson Regis explained that there are avenues which the state has in place to help retrenched individuals.
