As the country tries to address raising unemployment there is a proposal for greater attention to be placed on arts and culture to help generate jobs.

Chief Executive Officer of the London based organization Carnival Village; Shabaka Thompson made the recommendation in a News Power Authority.

He said as the government moves forward on diversifying the economy and lessen the dependence on the energy sector, arts and culture are two areas with great potential for job creation.

 Mr. Thompson said the institution Carnival Village is doing its part to ensure job opportunities are created for Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean nationals to help empower themselves.
