Greenvale Residents Leave Community Meeting Dissatisfied.

by | Nov 2, 2018

Residents of Greenvale, La Horquetta were left dissatisfied with the answers given to them by Government officials Thursday night during a community meeting.

The community, which continues to reel following massive flooding, was invited by the Housing Development Corporation to discuss the mortgage deferral process, grants, psychosocial support, home repairs and updates from the Ministry of Works and Transport.

Minister of Housing, Edmund Dillon and Minister of Works, Rohan Sinanan were both reportedly in attendance.

The residents seemed particularly upset over the 3 month mortgage deferral offered to them by the Trinidad and Tobago Mortgage Finance Company.

TTMF’s CEO Robert Green explained to the residents how the mortgage deferral process will work, however, his explanation was met with loud protests by many residents.

He hastened to add that the mortgage deferral is exactly that…a deferral and not a waiver…a point that did not sit well with residents.
