The Baker family shed tears as they waited for a post mortem on the thirteen year old boy.

They claimed that they still had no idea why the boy was fatally shot in such a violent manner shortly after 9 o’clock on Friday on Blue Basin Road in Diego Martin.

Relatives explained that he was on his way to a nearby shop to purchase a soft drink when he was ambushed by some men who were hiding in the dark.

Mr. Baker, the boy’s Father, said that he was even more puzzled with the killing since it was the boy’s older brother who was associated with delinquent elements.

He claimed that he did not accept the explanation that it may have been a case of mistaken identity because of the number of shots fired at close range.

The boy’s Father revealed that before his death the boy had displayed growing interest in a proper education, foregoing writing the Secondary Entrance Assessment Examination (SEA) this year with the hope of entering a better school next year.
